Client: Arran Street East
Role: Designer
Overview
Commission by Arran Street East to design furniture to complement the aesthetic of the Arran Street East brand.
Locally sourced Irish sycamore was used to create solid timber tops for both benches and tables. All timber was cut from the same tree to allow for bookmatching of sycamore planks when tables or benches are pushed together. The pale sycamore was chosen to contrast with and highlight the natural colours of the ASE pottery range.
Table and bench legs were locally manufactured from solid 40x10mm steel sections. This profile when powder coated black referenced the metal profile of the surrounding windows and doors of the ASE shop.
The design of the tables and benches allows them to be arranged in various combinations depending on the desired use.
