Overview
Evolving out of the design and curation of Ó, DCCoI presented for the second time the work of contemporary Irish designers and makers in an Irish pavilion at Maison et Objet.
The exhibition showcased a broad range of work from 22 designers and makers practising in many disciplines. The exhibition was designed to highlight individual key pieces within the bespoke shelving designed and made for Ó, while also allowing for a freer lifestyle section.
"This is a very exciting time for the Irish design sector. We have seen a surge in recognition and appreciation internationally for the quality, diversity and provenance of work emerging from Ireland, especially following on from Irish Design 2015, the year-long government-backed initiative showcasing contemporary Irish design around the world. We want to reap the benefits of this growing appetite for authentic Irish designed and made products and participation in events such as Maison & Objet provides a unique opportunity to connect leading Irish designers and makers with discerning buyers from across the globe.”
